Trust Him

Jesus says that we must become as little children in our relationship to God. A child in good relation with his parent doesn’t question his parent’s decisions, he trusts that they are good. And that is why it is such a tragedy when that trust is betrayed — there is a beauty in the innocence of trust.

My relationship with my Heavenly Father must be like that. Is that God speaking? Is that God leading? Is God unconcerned about my hard circumstances? Those questions often come out of a lack of trust that God is present and involved, as Psalm 139 teaches. Since God says He is with us always, we just have to ask Him to speak to us, and He will. How much wasted talk we engage in, wondering what to do, asking the advice of others, asking for others’ prayers even without ever engaging in it ourselves! God says, “Trust me, child.”
