Set Apart

“…the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them'” (Acts 13:2, NASB).

Barnabas and Saul were set apart, sanctified, when they were saved as is true of all believers. But then they were set apart again to do specific work that others weren’t called to do. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that God has work for us to do — but what He calls me to do will likely differ from what He calls you to do. The key is recognizing that we are set apart for His use as He decides is best.

To what is God calling you? Don’t be looking around to see what others are doing, just look at God and listen to what He calls you to do. Then go and do it, knowing He provides everything you need to be able to accomplish the work (Romans 14:4).
